There’s a special holiday present for all Blood on the Clocktower fans this year. A brand new homebrew script by Nashable is now available here. Deck your Grimoires with these festive additions to everyone’s favorite social deduction game. This homebrew is intuitive for players at all levels of experience. It wraps the mechanics of the base three scripts into one holiday package and includes some shiny new toys to play with. One of my personal favorites is Santa Claus.
Santa Claus is a flexible character who can sneak a touch of magic into the game. But be careful, Santas! Games can be very easily swung by putting a good player onto the naughty list, or by blessing evil with a nice visit. The good or bad things that may happen are at storyteller discretion, which allows for some flexibility in how apparent Santa is to other players. For example, they could protect a “nice” player from execution or cause a “naughty” player to receive misinformation for one night.
Santa is very powerful, but the ne’er-do-wells of Ravenswood Bluff have their own tricks. Evils such as Jack Frost are insidious, able to freeze nights with calculated misdirection.
Anyone who chooses players at night should be very aware that their ability might not be their own. Jack Frost can cause a Gambler who gambled correctly to die in the night by redirecting their ability; they can even cause Monk protections to fail or an Exorcist to choose someone else.
If your group wants to try these and more fun characters but isn’t ready to dive headfirst into a full homebrew, there are other options as well. We’ll be releasing several scripts made by Chill on the Clocktower community (and excellent script writer) Melon. She’s put a holiday spin on the base three classics. Trouble Sleighing, Stockings and Violence, as well as Moonlight Mistletoe Mishaps will have you laughing all the way.
